Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA: http://nomadicsamuel.com/photo-essays/50-things-to-do-in-new-york-city 50 Things to do in New York City Top Attractions Travel Guide: 1 Grand Central Terminal 2 The High Line 3 Meatpacking District 4 Greenwich Village 5 Brooklyn Bridge 6 Williamsburg 7 Street Art in Williamsburg 8 Prospect Park 9 Dumbo 10 New York Style Pizza 11 Bryant Park 12 New York Public Library 13 Staten Island Ferry 14 Statue of Liberty 15 Battery Park 16 Little Italy 17 Little Korea 18 Chinatown 19 Coney Island 20 Mermaid Parade 21 The Cloisters 22 Harlem's Apollo Theatre 23 Soul Food in Harlem at Sylvia's 24 World Trade Center Memorial 25 Trinity Church 26 Wall Street 27 Lincoln Center 28 Ride a Bicycle 29 Watch a New York Yankees baseball game at Yankee Stadium 30 MET Museum (Metropolitan Museum of Art) 31 Flatiron Building 32 Washington Square Park 33 NYU (New York University) 34 National Museum of the American Indian 35 Museum of Natural History 36 Times Square 37 MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) 38 Roosevelt Island Tramway 39 Fifth Avenue Shopping 40 Rockefeller Center 41 Empire State Building 42 Carnegie Hall 43 Central Park 44 Strawberry Fields 45 Street Food 46 Catch a Broadway Theatre Performance 47 Madison Square Garden 48 African Burial Ground 49 Columbus Circle 50 Take the Subway Metro Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. A 3.5+ hour tour of New York City (NYC), focusing on the borough of Manhattan, the city’s historic birthplace, economic and administrative center as well as the most densely populated of the 5 boroughs that make up NYC. A technical issue on Youtube's end is causing the video to play for only 15 minutes instead of 3 hours and 40 minutes on most viewing platforms such as mobile phones, tv streamers and even desktops. Until Youtube resolves the issue with this original video, you may access this link for the alternate full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tPwFs1CrJY The film chronologically progresses from early morning to the small hours of the night, showcasing daily life around Manhattan. - Early morning up to 10 AM (0:00 - 24:07) - Daytime from 10 AM to 2 PM (24:08 - 1:45:37) - Daytime from 2 PM to 4 PM (1:45:38 - 2:17:49) - Afternoon from 4 PM to sunset (2:17:50 - 3:00:17) - Sunset (3:00:18 - 3:11:01) - Evening (3:11:02 - 3:24:42) - Night (3:24:43 - 3:40:33) For those planning on visiting, those who’d like to visit but cannot or those who might be nostalgic and want to re-live their past visits / life there, hopefully this film shall satisfy, time and time again. A person MUST experience the city at least once in their lifetime. Filmed during October 2015. See if you can spot swimming pool on a patio of one of the other buildings ;) Watch even more exciting and amazing videos here: http://www.youtube.com/user/proukraine#g/c/360CF51D5C17409B Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres (89,000 m2) between 48th and 51st streets in New York City. Built by the Rockefeller family, it is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, spanning the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. The centerpiece of Rockefeller Center is the 70-floor, 872-foot (266 m) GE Building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza ("30 Rock") - formerly known as the RCA Building - centered behind the sunken plaza. The building is the setting for the famous Lunchtime atop a Skyscraper photograph, taken by Charles C. Ebbets in 1932 of workers having lunch, sitting on a steel beam, without safety harnesses. The 840-foot (260 m) drop lies below. Unlike most other Art Deco towers built during the 1930s, the GE Building was constructed as a slab with a flat roof, where the Center's newly renovated observation deck, the Top of the Rock is located, which was first built in 1933. The $75 million makeover of the observation area was carried out by the Center's owner, Tishman Speyer Properties and was finally completed in 2005. It spans from the 67-70th floors and includes a multimedia exhibition exploring the history of the Center. On the 70th floor, reached by both stairs and elevator, there is a 20-foot (6.1 m) wide viewing area, allowing visitors a unique 360-degree panoramic view of New York City.

5th Avenue Shops and Stores, Manhattan, New York City, 4K video Fifth Avenue is a major thoroughfare going through the borough of Manhattan in New York City, United States. It stretches from West 143rd Street in Harlem to Washington Square North at Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village. It is considered among the most expensive and best shopping streets in the world. The section of Fifth Avenue that crosses Midtown Manhattan, especially that between 49th Street and 60th Street, is lined with prestigious shops and is consistently ranked among the most expensive shopping streets in the world. The "most expensive street in the world" moniker changes depending on currency fluctuations and local economic conditions from year to year. For several years starting in the mid-1990s, the shopping district between 49th and 57th Streets was ranked as having the world's most expensive retail spaces on a cost per square foot basis. In 2008, Forbes magazine ranked Fifth Avenue as being the most expensive street in the world. Some of the most coveted real estate on Fifth Avenue are the penthouses perched atop the buildings. Manhattan is one of the five boroughs of New York City, geographically smallest but most densely populated in the city. Located primarily on the island of Manhattan at the mouth of the Hudson River, the borough is conterminous with New York County, an original county of the U.S. state of New York. The borough and county consist of Manhattan Island and several small adjacent islands: Roosevelt Island, Randall's Island, Wards Island, Governors Island, Liberty Island, part of Ellis Island, Mill Rock, and U Thant Island; as well as Marble Hill, a small area on the mainland bordering the Bronx. The City of New York originated at the southern tip of Manhattan and expanded northward. New York County is the most densely populated county in the United States and is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, with a 2010 population of 1,585,873 living in a land area of 22.96 square miles (59.5 km2), or 69,464 residents per square mile (26,924/km²), more dense than any individual American city. It is also one of the wealthiest counties in the United States, with a 2005 per capita income above $100,000. Manhattan is the third-largest of New York's five boroughs in population, after Brooklyn and Queens, and its smallest borough in land area. Manhattan has been described as the economic and cultural center of the United States and is home to the United Nations Headquarters. Anchored by Wall Street in Lower Manhattan, New York City functions as one of the financial capitals of the world, has an estimated GDP of over $1.2 trillion, and is home of both the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Many multinational media conglomerates are based in the borough. Many districts and landmarks in Manhattan have become well known to New York City's approximately 50 million annual visitors. Times Square, iconified as "The Crossroads of the World" and "The Center of the Universe", is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway theatre district, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. The borough hosts many world-renowned bridges, skyscrapers, and parks. Manhattan's Chinatown incorporates the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere. The Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village served as the catalyst for the modern gay rights movement. Numerous colleges and universities are located in Manhattan, including Columbia University, New York University, and Rockefeller University, which have been ranked among the top 50 in the world. Manhattan also houses New York City Hall, the seat of city government. The name Manhattan derives from the word Manna-hata, as written in the 1609 logbook of Robert Juet, an officer on Henry Hudson's yacht Halve Maen (Half Moon). A 1610 map depicts the name as Manna-hata, twice, on both the west and east sides of the Mauritius River (later named the Hudson River). The word "Manhattan" has been translated as "island of many hills" from the Lenape language. New York County is one of seven counties in the United States to share the same name as the state in which they are located (the other six counties are Arkansas County, Hawaii County, Idaho County, Iowa County, Oklahoma County, and Utah County). The United States Postal Service prefers that mail addressed to Manhattan use "New York, NY" rather than "Manhattan, NY". A prelude to organized colonial opposition to British rule, the Stamp Act Congress of representatives from across the Thirteen Colonies was held in New York City in 1765. The Congress resulted in the Declaration of Rights and Grievances, the first document by a representative body of multiple colonies to assert the concept popularly known as "no taxation without representation". It was also the first time the colonies cooperated for a unified political aim, laying the foundation for the Continental Congresses that followed years later. The Sons of Liberty developed on Manhattan in the days following the Stamp Act protests. The organization participated in a long-term confrontation with British authorities over liberty poles that were alternately raised by the Sons of Liberty and cut down by British authorities. The skirmishes ended when the revolutionary New York Provincial Congress took power in 1775. Manhattan was at the heart of the New York Campaign, a series of major battles in the early American Revolutionary War. The Continental Army was forced to abandon Manhattan after the disastrous Battle of Fort Washington on November 16, 1776. The city became the British political and military center of operations in North America for the remainder of the war. Manhattan was greatly damaged by the Great Fire of New York during the British military rule that followed. British occupation lasted until November 25, 1783, when George Washington returned to Manhattan, as the last British forces left the city.
